Engaging the future

Pacific Science Center

Generations of families know Seattle’s Pacific Science Center as a destination that makes learning about science fun. Despite Pacific Science Center’s positive reputation, few local residents were aware of its contributions to the broader community, such as the science education programming it provides to schools in all 39 of Washington's counties.

Pacific Science Center hired Pyramid in 2007 to assess  perception of its current offerings and engage the community in envisioning the organization’s future. Pyramid conducted opinion research among community leaders, parents and teachers across the state over a nine-month period. Through focus groups and interviews, we gauged public support for various initiatives that emerged in Pacific Science Center’s strategic plan.

In 2009, building on the foundation developed through our research, Pyramid evolved the Science Center brand to reflect the wonder and excitement of science it shares with the community. A refreshed logo and a more engaging look and feel bring the Pacific Science Center brand to life. Pyramid continues to work with Pacific Science Center to develop strategies for telling the story of its role as an innovative leader in science education more broadly.
