Oregon Workforce Investment Board

Oregon Workforce Investment Board (OWIB) sought to launch a youth outreach campaign to encourage more young people aged 17-25 to take advantage of education and training opportunities available in Oregon. The goal was to strengthen and expand the career options of Oregon youth who are out of school, unemployed or under-employed.

After talking with youth across the state, Pyramid designed an outreach campaign called MyPath in which youth speak directly about education and training opportunities through social networking and peer-to-peer street marketing. The main platform for the campaign is an interactive website (www.mypathcareers.org) that guides youth through career opportunities by showing them real people in real careers through videos and photo diaries.  Pyramid also developed an inspiring set of campaign messages to carry out through a targeted, statewide paid media strategy.

The campaign launched in 2010 and planning has brought together a coalition of stakeholders from across the state, including Oregon Department of Education, Oregon University System, Community Colleges and Workforce Development, Career Pathways and Oregon Manufacturing Alliance.
