This land is your land
The Trust for Public Land (TPL) conserves land for people to enjoy as parks, gardens and other natural places, ensuring livable communities for generations to come. For more than a decade, Pyramid has worked with TPL on projects ranging from strategic planning and message development to media outreach and event planning. In Washington, Oregon, California and across the nation, Pyramid has a long history of working with TPL.
When the Washington state office needed a new five-year strategic plan in 2006, we worked closely with staff and board to facilitate the process, including detailed work with the teams assigned to write the plan. Motivated in part by a new strategic plan at the national level, the state office was charged with developing a strategy to engage the public more actively. Pyramid's in-depth understanding of TPL’s organizational culture, along with our knowledge of the challenges and opportunities facing TPL in Washington, helped the process advance smoothly.
To elevate TPL's work in the media, Pyramid worked with senior staff across the West to conduct a series of media trainings. Focused on proven techniques for generating positive coverage, Pyramid conducted hands-on trainings that emphasized cultivating relationships, along with protocol for engaging reporters on deadline. As we supported TPL staff on project announcements, we were able to secure coverage in a wide range of publications, including the Seattle Times, USA Today and National Public Radio.
